Local Organizing CommitteeThe Italian gas hydrate team is a multidisciplinary group that has been involved in gas hydrate research for over 30 years. OGS has been an active player over the last decades, primarily in the domain of theoretical elastic models, geophysical explorations, and in correlating climate change with hydrate stability. CNR-IFAC has extensive experience in the high-pressure synthesis of gas hydrates and in their structural and dynamic characterization, mainly using light and neutron scattering techniques. The goal is to provide new insights for both fundamental science and energy storage applications. The University of Camerino, with the Environmental Chemistry Research Laboratory, focuses on the identification of pollutants, the development and optimization of environmental remediation methods, and the chemical and morphological characterization of hydrates and their related environments. The Gas Hydrate Facility at the University "G. d'Annunzio" of Chieti-Pescara has been active in the field of clathrate hydrates since 2003, with activities ranging from fundamental research (kinetics and thermodynamics of hydrate promoters/inhibitors) to field applications in energy and space technologies. The University of Perugia is one of the most prolific European research groups in gas hydrate science, with fifteen years of expertise in hydrate-based processes for energy purposes, the exploitation of natural gas hydrates, and CO2 storage. |
